Register of British Coleoptera and Hemiptera

Scope and Content

The collection of insects made by E.A. Newberry was registered in the University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge, in 1921. It came with a series of notebooks.

  • A Catalogue of British Hemiptera, ca. 50 pages, dated 18 August 1882.
  • A Register of Coleoptera, in 7 volumes. The entries refer to specimens collected by Newberry between 1882 and 1920 and give details of species and localities. In total there were 15650 specimens.

Emanuel Augustus Newberry was an entomologist, no further data found.

Manuscripts can be consulted on appointment only. The Museum of Zoology is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 17:00 pm. Access and reproduction is at the discretion of the Archivist.
