Administrative / Biographical History

The Hulme Study was undertaken from 1987 to 1990 to formulate proposals with a view to improving the environmental, commercial, employment and social conditions in Hulme and the Moss Side District Centre. The study was managed by a Supervisory Group which consisted of a partnership between the City Council, Hulme Tenants and the Department of the Environment. Valerie Karn was appointed as an independent chair to the group.

Arrangement

Initially listed in 2008. The papers arrived in two separate accessions and were completely unsorted. A structure was created and items were given a reference number based on our library system (i.e. VK/O/C/28). The catalogue was reviewed in 2018. The basic structure from 2008 was retained with items being listed in chronological order within these series. Items have been re-numbered (swapping the library number for an archive number i.e. GB3228.3/1/1) and repackaged.
