Administrative / Biographical History
Laurence Cecil Bartlett Gower, (1913-1998), FBA, obtained his LLB in 1933, LLM in 1934 and was admitted a solicitor in 1937. He was Vice Chancellor, University of Southampton, 1971-9 and a member of various committess, including the Omrod Committee on Legal Education, 1967-71, and the Royal Commission on the Press, 1975-7.
