The volume contains poems, short stories, watercolours, pencil, and pen and ink sketches of plants, landscapes and individuals; with entries in a number of hands, probably compiled for an individual who spent time in Scotland and in the East Indies. Entries include: `On the assassination of a commanding officer who was shot with five bullets on December 8th 1820 in the streets of K'; letter of Princess Charlotte of Wales to her mother, 1817; grand result of twenty years' war, drawn up in 1815; prints of the Burns monument, Alloway Kirk, and Burns' cottage; and a watercolour of Chindwara, East Indies, residence of the late Major Montgomery. Probably compiled between 1820 and 1825.
