Administrative / Biographical History
Provision for specialist teaching of boys aged 12 to 16 in technical subjects was made by the creation of the Junior Technical School in 1918; housed in the Technical College, the Centre was visited by pupils of most schools in Doncaster. At a later date it became the Junior Technical and Commercial School. In 1936, the Junior Instruction Centre for Girls was set up at Elmfield House, when the Boys Centre was formed, sharing the St George Gate premises with the Technical College, until such time as new premises could be built
