Administrative / Biographical History

Alfred Adams appears to have begun his life as a farm worker, but after losing his sight in military service in the 1914-1918 war, was retrained as a clogmaker and repairer. He began business as a cobbler at 149 St Sepulchre Gate but subsequently moved to 7 St john's Road, Balby where he ran a cobblers and drapers shop. He later retired to Blackpool
