This subgroup predominantly consists of letters relating to personal and work-related matters, rather than reflecting ANM's work as a writer and dramatic critic, although numerous letters of congratulation from well-known writers are included. The material consists of letters relating to ANM's job at the Manchester Guardian, his 70th birthday, the conferment of his honorary D.Litt, and his retirement from the Guardian, in addition to letters from personal friends consisting purely of family matters or reminiscences about working at the Guardian office.
