RECORDS OF THE BROUGHTON HALL AND DODDINGTON ESTATES

Scope and Content

Primarily containing deeds relating to Broughton Hall Estate, Broughton Poggs, during the ownership of John Thickins and it's subsequent sale to William Henry Marling in 1888. The collection also includes legal papers concerning Thickins' bankruptcy and negotiations over the dower of Mary Ann Thickins Stormont. A smaller section of the collection relates to Thickins' estate in Doddington, Cambridgeshire, which was sold in 1885.

Deposited as accession 217 in 1953.
