This class of records includes two volumes of annual reports and accounts which contain some other material, mainly newspaper cuttings and a publication Sun Mill Company Limited Oldham: The Story of a Great Enterprise 1858- 1958(See SM/3/1/2). The series also includes two volumes containing half-yearly balances and auditors' certificates. These volumes give an important overview of the financial position of the company, but the books of prime entry and ledgers, which would have provided a more detailed picture of the day to day running of the business, have not survived.
