Scope and Content

Comprising: Coroner's daily record book 1932-1972; other records 1931-1974, including treasure trove inquest 1964

Administrative / Biographical History

The West Riding County Council was responsible for the appointment of the coroner for the Doncaster District. This did not include the former County Borough of Doncaster, which possessed its own coroner, whose records are catalogued at CR/DCB. The jurisdiction of the West Riding Doncaster District coroner was superseded by that of the coroner for the newly-created South Yorkshire (East District) from 1 April 1974.
