Photographs

Scope and Content

The following series comprises five black and white photographic prints, consisting of portraits of Harold Blundell and his wife. There are also photographs of Blundell at his honorary degree ceremony at Manchester University in 1959 and a display of Blundell's published works in the front window of Hatchards bookshop.

Arrangement

The photographs were originally stored in pieces of folded card or in brown stamped addressed envelopes. They have since been removed and placed in archival enclosures for preservation purposes. BLU/7/2 was originally stored in an envelope addressed to Harold Blundell date stamped for July 1959, which has been retained as it clarifies that the print relates to his honorary degree presentation at Manchester University that year. The photographs have been arranged according to their subject matter, with BLU/7/1-2 relating to the record creator, Harold Blundell, BLU/7/3-5 relating to his wife, Gwladys Mabel Blundell née Roberts, and BLU/7/6 appearing to be a publicity photograph advertising books written by Harold Blundell in the front window of Hatchards booksellers of Piccadilly, London.
