Miscellaneous legal papers [probably from office of Porter & Co., Porter Amphlett & Co. and Porter, Jones & Amphlett, solicitors]. Includes accounts and other financial records, deeds of title, wills and administrations, legal agreements, evidence produced for court cases and counsels' opinions, sales particulars and plans of alterations to licenced premises for licencing purposes. A few legal documents had been cut into pieces. In one case what remained contained insufficient text to ascertain where it related to, and was disposed of. Another has been retained as it related to intact documents within the series. Some documents, especially plans, were in very poor condition having been subjected to water in the past. Those in a hazardous condition and worthy of retention have been photocopied onto archival paper and the original disposed of.
