This section contains material, collected by Sylvia K. Guthrie, during her time working at the Duchess of York Hospital for Babies. The hospital was set up in 1914, as a direct result of a Conference on Infantile Mortality held in Manchester. It played an important role in improving maternity care in the Manchester area in the inter-war period.
