Three volumes of records of the Hankinson family, sometime of Hale, in the parish of Bowdon, Cheshire.
Volumes 1 and 2 comprise George Hankinson's transcripts of memorial inscriptions, parish registers, abstracts of title and wills relating to the Hankinson family. There are additional notes at the end of both volumes by Ernest Axon.
Volume 3 was almost entirely compiled by Ernest Axon, except for a few pages at the front of the volume by George Hankinson. It also contains an introduction by Axon, dated 23 October 1920. There are occasional additional entries in at least one other hand, the latest dated 1929. Pasted into the volume are several autograph signatures of members of the Hankinson family. There is a name index at the back of the volume.
