This sub-series comprises 1915 correspondence between Charles Prestwich Scott (1846-1932), editor and proprietor of the Manchester Guardian, and contemporary politicians, writers and educationists including the poet Alfred Perceval Graves and the economist Alfred Marshall. Topics covered include the Shell Crisis of 1915 and the ensuing political crisis, British-Irish relations, French field hospitals, and proposals for ending the war.
