Scope and Content

Records collected by the solicitor D. S. Glasbrook, 1519-1962, mainly relating to Carmarthenshire but also to Cardiganshire, Pembrokeshire, Montgomeryshire and to Glamorgan; relating to Myddfai, Gwynfe and Fabon, Carmarthenshire, 1913-1939; High Sheriffs' papers, 1868; records relating to the manors of Llangadock Patria and Villa, Carmarthenshire, [20th century]; records of the Lloyd family relating to the Brunant estate, 1778-1895; and records relating to the Glansevin estate, 1857-1943.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Glasbrook family of Swansea were colliery proprietors. D. Stanley Glasbrook, of the family, was active as a solicitor in the mid and late 20th century. He seems to have amassed a collection of deeds and papers as part of his work, covering the manor of Perfeth, Carmarthenshire, the Brunant estate, other manors in Carmarthenshire, Glansevern estate, and deeds relating to Cardiganshire, Glamorgan, Montgomeryshire and Pembrokeshire in the collection.
