Recorded interviews with national and area officials of the NUM. Subjects covered include trade-union and political activity, life in the coalfield, working conditions in the mines, unemployment, strikes and disputes, religion, lodges, economic depression, disasters, recreation, industrial diseases and pit closures. The recordings were made 1969-1974 but cover the period 1893-1973 (c) in subject matter.
