There are few records from the classes. Some material may also be found in the workshops section of the catalogue, for example the Masterclass that took place in Lancaster in 1996. Most of the records relate to classes from the early 1990s. Records of more recent have yet to be deposited. Evaluations of more recent courses can be found in the back issues of The Lowdown.

Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Classes for new writers have always been a core activity of North West Playwrights. Writers wishing to attend a course have to submit a short piece of writing, with participation in advanced level classes by invitation. Writers who submit scripts to the reading service may be offered classes rather than a workshop if the readers and committee feel it is appropriate.
Arrangement
The records are in two series, arranged by type of record:
- NWP 5/1 Administrative records
- NWP 5/2 Photographs
