      Originally seven folders, these have been disbound and placed in four folders as follows: Folder 1: vol.1s, 3a and 3b (55 sheets); Folder 2: Vol 2 (23 sheets); Folder 3: Vols. 4 and 5 (29 sheets); Folder 4: vols 6 and 7 (21 sheets).

Scope and Content

A series of Dalton's notebooks recording of daily meteorological observations at Kendal. These are arranged as: 1) Sep 1787-Dec. 1788; 2) Dec. 1788-Oct. 1789; 3) Jan.-July 1789; 3a) Jan -May 1790; 3b) Jul-Nov 1790 4) Jan-June 1791; 5) July-Dec. 1791; 6) Jan.-June 1792; 7) July-Dec. 1792.
