Launton is situated 16 miles north east of Oxford.
The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Rev J. Goddard, rector of Launton in 1976 apart from PAR159/16/H1/1 that was deposited by the clerk to Launton Parish Council in 1968, PAR159/9/MS1/1 which was deposited by Rev E. S. Tarrant in 1956 and and PAR159/1/R3/3 deposited by Rev J. S. Blyth in 1979. Material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire History Centre. Additional records were deposited as Acc 1270 in July1976 and originally catalogued as Misc Launton. Further records were deposited as Acc 2847 in 1983 and Acc 6314 in August 2014.
