Administrative / Biographical History

The Nexus Centre was a short stay school which catered for pupils experiencing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. It was originally based at the Long Sandall Pupil Referral Unit (see SR121) off Barnby Dun Road, but moved to premises off Cedar Road, Balby, in the spring term of2009.

Its pupils were dual registered and also attended a mainstream school or some other educational provision within the authority. The main priority for the Centre was to facilitate the re-integration of pupils to mainstream education. It closed in 2012.

No logbooks or admission registers survive from the school, and the records in this collection comprise entirely of Management Committee Minutes, and information booklets relating to school procedures.

Arrangement

The collection is divided into two series as follows:

SR122/1: Minutes

SR122/2: Miscellaneous
