  • Manuscript copy of the petition of Bury Hutchinson;
  • Printed copy of the petition, with printed and manuscript remarks on the case;
  • Printed memorial of Bury Hutchinson;
  • Printed statement concerning the debt due from the Travancore Government to the representative of the late John Hutchinson (4 copies).

The petition of Bury Hutchinson was given to the House of Lords in 1830 in relation to a Parliamentary Bill being debated entitled, An Act for the Relief of the Sufferers by the Insolvency of Gilbert Ricketts Esquire, formerly Registrar of the Supreme Court of Judicature at Madras. It was an attempt to link the petitioner's claims of payment against the East India Company to the larger piece of legislation.
