Correspondence

Scope and Content

This series contains a substantial quantity of correspondence covering various aspects of Platt's public and personal life. The original files have been retained where possible, breaking down the series into a number of files. Some of these files contain miscellaneous correspondence, or correspondence seen by Platt as having historical significance, other files are arranged by correspondent. The strengths of this series lie in correspondence with important American orthopaedic surgeons, correspondence concerning international cooperation in orthopaedic surgery and surgical training, and the historical development of orthopaedic surgery.

There is also substantial correspondence elsewhere in the Platt papers, in particular in Clinical Correspondence (PLA/1/10), Ex-patients (PLA/2), Ministry of Health (PLA/8), Surgical Colleges (PLA/9) and Historical Files (PLA/12).
