Scope and Content

EF is the author of a number of plays for television, the earliest being Breath, broadcast by the BBC in 1975. This series contains the script of that play, along with drafts of scripts and other material relating to: Lunch (broadcast by the BBC as a Play for Today in 1981); A Brave Face (broadcast by the BBC in 1985); The Chase (broadcast by Central TV in 1988); A Passionate Woman (a five-part series based on the life of Marie Stopes, broadcast in 1990); The Brecht Project (a three-part series based on the life of Bertolt Brecht, dating from 1990-91, although this was never ultimately made); and Western Sisters, which may also never have reached broadcast stage.

The material preserved here includes draft outlines, draft scripts, and rehearsal and shooting scripts.
