Hall was educated at Manchester Grammar School, trained as a medical apprentice at MRI, and later at St Thomas's London. He worked at Manchester Lying-in Hospital [St Mary's]. In 1814, he moved to Congleton, where he practised for the rest of his life. Hall was the father of Charles Radclyffe Hall.
