      6 volumes. Binding: half-bound in red morocco, marbled paper-covered boards. Condition: Eng MSS 363 & 364: both boards and spine detached; Eng MS 366: front board detached, head of spine missing.

Scope and Content

A collection of autograph letters, etc., of 542 members of the English nobility, chiefly English of the nineteenth century, arranged alphabetically by name. Many contain engravings. The contents of the volumes are as follows:

  • I (Eng MS 363), A to Cam;
  • II (Eng MS 364), Can to O;
  • III (Eng MS 365), E to H;
  • IV (Eng MS 366), K to Norf;
  • V (Eng MS 367), Nor to Sid;
  • VI (Eng MS 368), Sk to Z.
