Scope and Content

Manuscript on botany from which the first few folios having clearly been lost as page numbering begins with p.7.

The first section has the page numbering 7-63 and lists a number of different plants and their uses. On the recto of each page the Latin name of the plant is given along with a description of it and its uses, not necessarily medicinal. Alongside each entry on the verso is the English name of each plant. It is not immediately clear what links the particular plants that have been listed or what order they are in.

Following on from this on ff.30-43 there is a second section on lichen which lists different types of lichen with a brief physical description divided into 11 sub-categories depending on their characteristics.

A third section on ff.44-45 is entitled trinella, and the heading 'vegetables' is given on f.46 but there is no further information. ff.47-48 are blank.
