Walker graduated in medicine from Manchester in 1908 and took the DTM from Liverpool University in 1913. He was a medical officer to the Bolivia Delimitation Expedition and a senior resident medical officer at Manchester Union Hospital (later Crumpsall). Walker was later in practice in Bournemouth.
