Elsie Marsh (later Mrs Thompson) graduated in medicine from the University of Manchester in 1907; in 1909 she took the DPH and the MD. She was a former assistant medical officer to the City of London Infirmary and a pathologist and clinical assistant at the Cancer Hospital, Manchester.
