Bundle of letters from Lady Barbara Cairns to the Jeffersons. The first in the bundle, dated 2 July 1952, is addressed to Jefferson and is about the impossibility of visiting Hugh Cairns due to his illness. The second, dated 28 July 1952, thanks Jefferson for the obituaries he had written. Later letters to Jefferson largely concern the Hugh Cairns memorial lecture, including a list of suggested alterations to the lecture. Also includes personal letters from Lady Cairns to 'Trotula' [Gertrude Jefferson].
