To Harry Ridgway, not surprised he has not heard from him; various correspondence in light of their mother's death. Agrees decision to have Oscar (his mother's spaniel) put down was right one in circumstances. Suggests they should retain their mother's house for after the war. Regrets he has been left to sort matters out. He will be visiting the North West Frontier again.
