On folio 1 is a note: This was a strange thing for a Child to do. It was written in the year 1755 or 1756 - at latest, by H. L. Salusbury. Several leaves have been torn from the back of the volume, which may have carried verses, since the paste-down of the lower board carries the title Joseph & His Brethren | A Poem | On the model of the Ancient Greek | Drama.
