Scope and Content

A compendium of the arts of obstetrics authored by Franciscus-Ludovicus Josephus Solayrés de Renhac and submitted for his degree at Montpellier. Set out in numbered aphorisms the thesis addresses the pelvis, pudenda, uterus virgineus, uterus gravidus, foetus eiusque integumenta, contractio uteri, partus facilis, peragenda in partu facili, secundiarum exclusio, partus difficilis, signa foetus vivi aut mortui, situs mulieris dystocice parturientis, foetus pedibus extrahendi ratio, foetus capite extrahendi ratio, foetus discerpendi attenuandi ratio, accidentia, partus abortivus, and partus apostematusus. The names of the assessing professors are listed in the front.

The volume bears the bookplate of the Radford Library which indicates that it was allocated the reference F 57 viz. their 1877 catalogue and that is has since been renumbered M1 S54 as part of an alternative system.
