The Committee first met on 22 May 1933. It was chaired by the vice-chancellor, and members included the chairman of Council, academic staff and representatives of the Men's and Women's Students Unions. It discussed a range of issues of concern to the student body including accommodation, sports facilities, academic work, and degree day arrangements. It met until at least 1939 and was probably suspended on the outbreak of war.
