Manuscript copy of the lectures of Johann Gottfried Brendel (1712-1758) on the diseases of women and children seemingly taken largely from the published work of 1794 Praelectionem Academicarum de Cognoscendis et Curandis Morbis, Tomus Tertius, Morbos Singularum Partium, Luem Veneream, Nec Non Morbos Mulierum Infantum Complectens Edidit notasque adjecit Hermannus Wilhelmus Lindemann. The volume is divided into 13 distinct chapters, which are as follows:

Inscriptions in the inside front cover indicate that the manuscript was acquired by the Manchester Medical Society in December 1876 and allocated the reference GO 3481 viz. their 1890 library catalogue. There is an additional inscription on the flyleaf in German, possibly made by the manuscript's creator.
