Faulkner (née Whitrow) graduated in medicine at Manchester in 1926, and took the DA in 1938. She worked as a consultant anaesthetist at the Christie Hospital, Manchester from 1939 to 1964. She married Samuel Herbert Faulkner (see below) in 1933.
