Addey worked as a senior AMO at MRI (Radiology Dept). He then moved away from Manchester and became a radiologist at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital then at New Kent and Sussex Hospital before becoming consultant radiologist at Crowborough Hospital. He was a member of British Institute of Radiology, and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine
