Daly qualified in Dublin in 1872. He was resident medical officer to Chorlton Dispensary before being appointed surgeon to the Medlock Street Provident Dispensary, Manchester, and honorary physician to Manchester Nurse Training Institute. Daly was a member of Manchester Medical Society and of the Manchester Medico-Ethical Association.
