Gaulter, or Gaulther, was born in 1794, the son of a clergyman. He was a pupil of William Simmons at MRI from 1812 and graduated at Edinburgh in 1824. Gaulter was physician at the Chorlton-on-Medlock Dispensary, Manchester.
