Correspondence with Sir Percy Maurice Maclardie Sheldon Amos (1872-1940), judge, relating to discussion of the declaration of Egyptian independence, the intricacies of political relations in Egypt, the reporting on Egypt in the British press, and the recommendation of contacting Sir Gilbert Clayton to advise the Manchester Guardian on Egyptian politics.

Also included is a request by Scott for an article on the political situation in Egypt and the 1927 [Anglo-Egyptian] draft treaty, with queries relating to Sir Austen Chamberlain's [memoranda] on the subject. Amos accepts the invitation, and though he does not have the information requested, he promises to make attempts to obtain it.
