Correspondence with Neil Grant, journalist, relating to an expression of thanks for the sympathetic coverage received by Austria in the Manchester Guardian, conveyed from Grant in his role of providing press assistance to the Austrian minister [Baron Georg Franckenstein?] in London. There is also discussion of the gratitude felt in Austria for the publicity given to the Anschluss in the Manchester Guardian, and of the economic and political position of Austria, with the suggestion that perhaps the Manchester Guardian has painted a more negative picture of the situation in Austria than is the case, and that this may have an impact upon the Anschluss.
