Correspondence with Edward William Garnett (1868-1937), publisher's editor and writer, relating to a request by Garnett that a letter by writers and authors in Russia, [on censorship], entitled 'To The Writers of The World' be published in the Manchester Guardian, which is accepted, with the suggestion that Garnett write a leader article to accompany it, and with discussion of the situation in Russia.

Also included is a request by Scott that Garnett write an article on Tolstoy to be published on the centenary of his birth, which is accepted, with discussion of the form the article may take.
