Correspondence with Ughtred James Kay-Shuttleworth, 1st Baron Shuttleworth (1844-1939), politician, relating to an offer of a letter to the editor by Shuttleworth on the need for mediation during the general strike, 1926, with the request that it be published in the Manchester Guardian anonymously, which is accepted. Also included is a notice of the resignation of Shuttleworth as Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, with discussion of his friendship with Scott.
