Scope and Content

Correspondence with Captain C.B. Norman, army officer, relating to discussion of an offer of articles from a tour of Turkey, Persia, China and Japan undertaken on behalf of a number of British firms to develop and increase their trade within these countries, with discussion of potential terms, which is declined. Also included is a request to be considered as a correspondent for the Manchester Guardian on the Balkan [crisis] of July 1914, with details of previous experience in the region, which is acknowledged.
