Wrigley studied medicine at Owens College Manchester and qualified in 1900. He held appointments at several Manchester hospitals and was on the honorary staffs of Manchester Northern, Withington and Salford Royal hospitals. In 1910 he was appointed honorary assistant surgeon at MRI, and became a full surgeon in 1921. He was the brother of Frank Wrigley.
