Villy was born in Manchester in 1869 and gained his medical education at Cambridge and Owens College. He held resident appointments at Addenbrooke's Hospital, MRI and Manchester Hospital for Consumption. Villy was later medical officer at the Oakworth Road Institution and St John's Hospital in Keighley, Yorkshire. Villy was also a noted archaeologist. He died on 14 January 1940.
