Stephens, probably a relative of Edward and James Stephens, was a medical pupil at MRI in the early 1830s (his address was given as 4 Bridge Street). He later practised as a surgeon in Manchester. He may be the same individual as the John Stonehouse Stephens, LSA 1832, listed as practising in Manchester in the 1845 medical directory.
