From 1955 Woodcock was consultant in pathology at Wythenshawe, Baguley and Duchess of York Hospitals, Manchester. She had qualified from the University of Manchester in 1945, gained her MD (with commendation) in 1954 and held junior and pathological appointments in Manchester and Liverpool. Woodcock was a founder member of the Royal College of Pathologists, and in 1974 became a fellow. Woodcock was married to Arthur Sutton Woodcock MD.
