Wolman graduated from the University of Manchester in 1941. He took a DCH of London University in 1947, a MD from the University of Manchester in 1951 and was made a FRCP in 1972. He was a consultant paediatrician at Booth Hall Hospital, Manchester and for Bury and Rossendale Hospitals Group. He was also a lecturer in child health at the University of Manchester and a former president of the Manchester Paediatric Club.
