Soni gained his medical education at Edinburgh University. He held house appointments at Stockport Infirmary and Southport General Infirmary before being appointed RMO at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. He was a general practitioner in Moss Side for many years. In 1935 Soni was acquitted of a charge of false imprisonment and assault. He died on 7 September 1948.
